Alberto Gonzalez Casals told Shana on the sidelines of the 28th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2024) in Tehran that his country does not have significant energy resources, so they are keen on the import of Iranian oil products, a report by the Iranian oil ministry’s news website said.

Talking about the effects of the Iran oil sanctions on Tehran-Havana cooperation, the ambassador stated that Cuba and Iran are facing sanctions, but under the current conditions of sanctions, Tehran is developing at a favorable pace.

He went on to say that Iran has succeeded in preparing the required equipment for the development of its industries from domestic companies and keeps moving forward. “Iran and Cuba can have constructive cooperation and this is useful not only for Tehran and Havana, but also for the whole world.”

Next month, a working group of experts from Iran and Cuba will be formed, with energy as its main focus, the Cuban ambassador concluded.
