In a meeting with the secretary general of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), Ensiyeh Khazali elaborated on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s achievements in women and family affairs, arguing, “The Iranian women are mightily working in various fields, including engineering, medical doctors, health services, and economic activities.”

She added that the average age in Iran has reached 78 years, which is a good growth in comparison with other countries, and has grown noticeably.

The IORA Secretary General Salman Al-Farisi, too, appreciated Iran’s activities in the field of IORA’s Women’s Economic Empowering Workgroup, arguing, “Ever since Iran has become the head of that workgroup your country has actively presented plans and programs, and sponsored three very effective webinars, which we hope you will keep up the good job.”

The Iran-IORA: Perspectives and Opportunities Conference, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of IORA establishment, too, was held in the presence or Secretary General Salman Al-Farisi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari, ECO Secretary General Noziri, and foreign countries’ officials and ambassadors at the Presidential Office.

The Indian Ocean Rim Association is an inter-governmental organization which was established on 7 March 1997.
