President Raeisi made the remarks at a joint press conference with his Tajik counterpart in Tashkent on Wednesday.

The Islamic Republic has made considerable progress in various fields, especially in science and technology despite threats and sanctions, he said.

He went on to say that the Iranian nation has turned the sanctions into opportunities.

Pointing to capacities and experiences in energy, agriculture, industry, and mines, Raeisi voiced Iran’s readiness to share the experiences with Tajikistan.

Iran and Tajikistan enjoy cultural commonalities, he said, noting that it was decided that the two sides take serious steps to expand Persian culture and language through activating cultural sectors in the two countries.

Elsewhere in his remarks, President Raeisi termed Palestine as the top issue of the Islamic world and humanity.

The Islamic Republic of Iran calls for an immediate halt to attacks on Gaza and the massacre of civilians, he further noted.

Emomali Rahmon, for his part, welcomed the expansion of cooperation in various fields with Iran.

Inking bilateral documents between Iran and Tajikistan will enhance the level of cooperation, the Tajik president noted.

He further underlined that historical common ground would further expand cooperation between the two countries.

President Raeisi’s visit to Dushanbe is being held at the official invitation of President Rahmon.

It is scheduled to sign several cooperation documents in various economic, commercial, industrial, transportation and transit, railways, energy, the establishment of the joint free zone, customs, cultural and scientific fields, modern technologies, sports, crisis management, and counter-narcotics.
