Before Indonesia, Biden had traveled to Egypt and Cambodia to respectively attend the Climate Change Conference (COP 27) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting, but analysts believe that the meeting between the US president and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping was the most important event which happened during Biden’s Asia visit.

Such a meeting was the first face-to-face talk between the two presidents after Biden’s taking-office in January 2020, and the experts saw it as so effective in expansion of bilateral relations in the conditions that tension between the two big powers has been growing.

So, Biden’s visit to Asia which took place to extend the US influence in the region suffers the nightmare of the defeat of Democrats in Congress elections.

The meeting between Biden and Xi occurred and it should not be forgotten that the Chinese president has occupied a stronger position in China than his American counterpart does in the US.

Reportedly, the US president, whose administration is struggling with an unprecedented inflation rate in the past three decades, is now facing a crisis of popularity.

So, expansion of economic cooperation with China is one of the solutions for overcoming the US crisis.

At the present time, the United States needs something more than empty promises to get away from its predicament.
