Four Taliban militants were killed in a roadside bomb blast in Nangarhar

At least 58 people, including Taliban insurgents, have been killed and more than 100 others injured in four blasts in Kabul, Mazar-e-Sharif, Nangarhar and Kunduz provinces.

According to local sources in the city of Mazar, on Thursday, May 22nd, worshipers of the Shiite “Three Shops” mosque were targeted near the “Imam Ali shrine” in the city center.

The Afghan daily Hasht Sobh quoted its sources as saying that more than 50 people had been killed in the blast and that more than 80 people had been taken to Mazar’s district hospital.

Ghousuddin Anwari, the hospital’s director, told some media outlets that five people had been killed and 65 injured in the blast at a three-storey mosque.

Eyewitnesses said the blast occurred as worshipers were entering the mosque.

In the videos posted on social media, the bloody bodies of several worshipers can be seen inside the mosque.

ISIL claimed responsibility for the blast in Mazar-e-Sharif.

Meanwhile, local sources in Kunduz province reported that at noon on Thursday, April 21, an explosion took place in the “Sar-e-Durah” area in the center of the province.

Qari Obaidullah Abedi, a spokesman for the Taliban security commander in Kunduz, said at least four people had been killed and 18 others wounded in the blast.

According to sources, a car carrying employees of Kunduz Airport was attacked in the blast.

Meanwhile, local Taliban officials in eastern Nangarhar province said that on the morning of Thursday, April 21, four soldiers were killed and another wounded in a roadside bomb blast in Khogyani district of the province.

Qari Salahuddin, the district governor of Taliban in Khogyani, Nangarhar, said a group of militants in the “Bareh Khwaran” area of ​​the district hit a roadside mine.

At the same time, another explosion took place in the Ghanbar crossroads, in the 5th district of Kabul.

The Taliban said the blast was caused by a landmine planted inside a pot and that two children were superficially injured.
