Nasser Kan’ani condemned the baseless accusations and statements of the NATO Secretary General regarding Iran’s role in the region.
He stated that the NATO Secretary General’s claims are like a bitter irony as NATO and some of its members have a dark history of colonialism, designing and implementing destructive and interventionist policies, as well as military actions in West Asia and other geographical regions which are the main cause of instability and insecurity around the world.
He pointed out that Iran’s principled policy has always been based on strengthening relations with neighbors within the framework of good neighborliness and mutual respect.
Efforts to achieve a stable, safe region and negation foreign interventions are considered one of Iran’s principles of foreign policy, he emphasized.
On Tuesday morning, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) accused Iran of continuously destabilizing the West Asian region, leveling baseless accusations.
