Bahram Eynollahi, the Iranian Minister of Health and Medical Education made the remarks on the sideline of the 17th International Exhibition of Tourism and Related Industries where he also announced the visits of 1.2 million medical tourists to the country in 10 months of the current Iranian year. He also said that medical tourists from 60 countries come to Iran to receive medical treatment.
He continued that the issue of medical tourism has been entrusted to the embassies and the “health attaches” are handling this matter, adding that the first health attache will be deployed at the Iranian embassy in Baghdad next week.
He also pointed to the efforts of President Ebrahim Raeisi government in the field of health tourism, noting that the number of medical tourism centers in the 13th government has increased from 130 centers to 280 compared to the previous Rouhani administration, showing more than double growth.
The 17th Tehran International Tourism & Related Industries Exhibition (TITE), an annual event in Iran’s tourism industry is being held at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground on 12-15 February 2024.
