During the meetings, the Iranian foreign minister will discuss and exchange views with Turkish officials on bilateral ties in political, economic and cultural fields as well as key regional and international topics.
Amir-Abdollahian has traveled to Ankara upon an invitation of Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
The top Iranian diplomat’s visit to Turkiye comes just days after he toured Lebanon and Syria for key regional talks.
Prior to leaving Tehran for Ankara, Amir-Abdollahian said, “The developments in west Asia are to be discussed during this visit”.
He noted that he was supposed to visit both Moscow and Ankara but because of some regional developments, the trip to Moscow was postponed.
Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan made an official invitation to his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi to travel to Turkey, where initial coordination of the trip will be carried out at a high level in Ankara, Amir-Abdollahian announced.
