Amirabdollahian in his Tuesday phone talk with Bayramov reviewed the latest status of bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interest.

Amirabdollahian expressed Tehran’s deep dissatisfaction with some illogical stands adopted in recent days arguing, “Respecting the national security and territorial integrity of the countries and refraining from interference in other countries’ internal affairs are among the fundamental rules in Iran’s foreign diplomacy.”

The foreign minister said that the diplomatic and official channels are be best way to resolve disputes and misunderstandings, emphasizing, “Talking about such issues in mass media not only does not lead to problem resolving, but also provides the path for the enemies’ making disadvantages.”

Amirabdollahian also said that relations with neighboring countries, including Azerbaijan Republic, is the priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the two countries’ relations need to be boosted.

He also invited his Azeri counterpart to attend the 3+3 Meeting, initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran as a framework for solving regional disputes diplomatically.

Jeyhun Bayramov, the foreign minister of Azerbaijan, too, in the phone talk referred to the two presidents’ meeting in Astana, and the meetings between the two countries’ top officials, as a positive point in bilateral relations, announcing Azerbaijan’s readiness for strengthening relations and removing the misunderstandings.
