The new offshore gas pipeline, costing €130 million to build, came into operation at the order of Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji, concurrent with the 45th victory anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
Following the completion of the pre-commissioning, commissioning operations and fulfilling the preparatory and final tests on the new offshore gas pipeline at phase 16 of the South Pars Gas Field, the gas platform and other onshore- and offshore facilities of phase 16 of the field had been put into operation on Thursday, October 12, 2023, IRNA reported.
Increasing gas production volume from phase 16 of the South Pars Gas Field with the capacity of transmitting three-phase fluid to one billion cubic feet per day (28 million cubic meters), safe and stable production of gas with a new pipeline, considering the multiple accidents of the previous pipeline of this phase, and using the capacity of domestic manufacturers have been cited as the main objectives of the project.
