Addressing a grand Iran-Russia business forum in Tehran, Rezaei said in the recent years, the growth rate of bilateral ties between Iran and Russia has increased faster than before, and if the both sides can expand ties regardless of threats and obstacles, we can see the prosperity and development of bilateral relations in different dimensions, especially the economic fields in near future.

He stated: Last year, the relations between Iran and Russia witnessed a considerable qualitative and quantitative growth in the exchange of high-ranking diplomatic delegations, which indicates that the contact and communication between them has been upgraded to high levels.

Head of Iran-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Iranian Parliament Rezaei added: in the field of economic relations, bilateral cooperation between Iran and Russia has seen good progress.

Rezaei said that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia have acted together as one voice in fighting against extremist terrorism in the region and have had successful experiences together in different dimensions and directions.

Iran ready to activate INSTC

This member of National security and foreign policy Commission in Iranian Parliament in his remarks addressed the businessmen and said: Fortunately, bilateral ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia are expanding and we are in a good period of relations between the two nations.

He said : The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to facilitate the connection between the Russian Federation and the Indian subcontinent by activating the North-South Corridor, and due to the low cost of production and transportation of goods, Iran is a suitable route for Russian traders.

Rezaei added: the best way to develop connections between Russia and Iran can be the set-up of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC).

Iran-Russia business forum is participated by a 120-member Russian delegation as well as businesspeople and officials from Iran.

The International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC) is a 7,200-km-long multi-mode network of ship, rail, and road route for moving freight between India, Iran, Azerbaijan, Russia, Central Asia and Europe. The route primarily involves moving freight from India, Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia via ship, rail and road.
