During the meeting, the top Thai diplomat expressed concern over the recent developments in the Gaza Strip, asking Amir-Abdollahian to assist in the release of Thai citizens who were detained in the conflict. He also invited his Iranian counterpart to visit Thailand.
Amir-Abdollahian, for his part, said that he will convey his message to Hamas officials.
The Hamas movement is a liberation movement that does not seek to take people hostage, the Iranian foreign minister said.
Referring to his meeting with Hamas high-ranking officials earlier on Tuesday, Amir-Abdollahian said that Hamas officials have emphasized that if the non-stop attacks of the Zionist regime on Gaza stop, they are ready to immediately review such requests and take action to release such citizens.
