Chief Justice of Iran Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje’i held a meeting with Prosecutor-General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov on Wednesday, while saying that, “Bilateral cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russian Federation in political and economic fields has been boosting since two past years. Thus, expanding judicial and legal cooperation between two countries is both undeniable and crucial”.

He went on to say, “Iran’s Judiciary welcomes the expansion of judicial cooperation with neighboring countries and Russian Federation and we hope to continue the cooperation in the light of both Iran and Russia’s interest,” as referring to two documents signed yesterday by Iran and Russia’s Attorney-General.

Igor Krasnov, in his turn, declared, “There are common threats and challenges such as extremism and terrorism, cyber security, crimes against children, weapons and drug trafficking in Russia so we are willing to share experience and information with Iranian side in these issues. In addition, thanks to Iran’s permanent membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, this sharing of information can be more extensive and comprehensive”.
