The Israeli regime attacked Iran’s consulate in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Monday evening. The Israeli aggression led to the destruction of the entire building and the martyrdom and injury of the entire people inside it.
Reacting to the incident, Akbari said that the Zionist regime targeted the consulate building and the ambassador’s residence, which was located next to the Iranian embassy.
“The Israeli F35 fighters from the occupied Golan targeted this building with six missiles. I was at my workplace in the embassy and I witnessed from my room that this building was damaged,” he said.
He went on to say that It is not the first time that the Zionist regime has committed such crimes, which is against international rules. “This regime had previously attacked diplomatic centers and embassies.”
“The Zionist regime has acted against international laws, which will result in our decisive response,” the senior Iranian diplomat stressed.
Sayin that the debris removal process has not been completed yet, Akbari underlined that at least 5 people were martyred, three of whom were Iran’s military attachés in Syria.
Also, two Syrian police forces were injured, according to him.
