This is the first time the Chicago Police Department has executed this level of arrests since the beginning of the pro-Palestinian encampments, Al Jazeera reported.
It added that students remained at a separate encampment at The University of Chicago for a sixth day.
Despite a police crackdown on student protests in support of Palestine, demonstrations continue across the United States and in other places across the world.
Israel waged a genocidal war on the besieged Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas Resistance group carried out a historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
At least 34,596 Palestinians have been killed and 77,816 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
