Coinciding with the anniversary of Dey-9 epic anniversary, a ceremony was held at the iconic Imam Hossein Square in downtown Tehran to commemorate the day with a large participation of the people in the capital.
People from all walks of life, including men and women, old and young, students held up the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran, commemorating the Dey-9 and kept alive the memory of the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, the martyrs of the Sacred Defense, the martyrs of health (Covid pandemic 19 period), and the martyrs of the 12-Day War.
Emphasizing the importance of 9th of Dey in the Iranian calendar which falls on December 30th, the participants considered this day a symbol of insight, vigilance, and timely presence of the people at critical moments of the Islamic Revolution, and described it as a turning point in the country’s contemporary history.
Speeches, reading out of statements, performing cultural programs, and chanting slogans that create unity were different parts of ceremony.
Similar ceremonies were held to marks the day in other cities across Iran on Tuesday.
