Admiral Shahram Irani, regarding the 2024 joint maritime security belt drill of Iran, China, and Russia stated that the difference between this year’s drill and the previous ones is in the number and class of vessels of the countries participating in the exercise.
He said that this year for the first time, the warships entered the exercise stage, adding that the destroyers of the present countries showed new capabilities in the 2024 maritime security belt exercise.
Referring to the presence of five observer countries (Oman, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, South Africa, and the Republic of Azerbaijan), he said that the purpose of the presence of these countries in this period is to monitor the quality of the joint exercise so that they know about the combination of vessels in this exercise for the next round.
Regarding the message of the simultaneous presence of Iranian, Chinese, and Russian vessels in this exercise, he noted that this joint presence means that Iran, China, and Russia can maintain the security of their navies by their navies.
The world is not in a unipolar state anymore, Irani said, adding that the global geometry is moving towards a multipolar world in a situation in which Iran, China, and Russia are present on the seas with their capabilities to help the national economy and defend the development of their country.
He further noted that the friendly countries were gratified with Iran, China, and Russia’s maritime security belt drill but the enemies and the unjustified forces of the region were discouraged, emphasizing that the enemies are aware that there will be no place for them in the northern Indian Ocean in the future.
