Iran began joint naval, air, and ground exercises in the Persian Gulf on Friday near the strategic Strait of Hormuz waterway.

The drills involve submarines and drones practicing information-gathering operations against attacking forces as well as reconnaissance operations.

At the operation, the drones of attacking forces, which intended to enter the general area of the exercise, were detected, identified and intercepted by the country’s air defense systems and then were shot down by successful firing of rockets and artillery shells from “Majid” and “Khatam” systems.

The “Majid” missile system uses for intercepting and downing low-altitude targets as well as cruise missiles, and the “Khatam” artillery fire control system is capable of striking various aerial targets at low altitudes.
