He expressed sympathy with the families of the victims, saying the Islamic Republic of Iran is strongly concerned over the endangering of the lives of people, especially Muslims, minorities and migrants.

Kanaani also stressed the need for the French police to exercise restraint in dealing with the peaceful gatherings of protesters.

The spokesman highlighted France’s history of adopting racist policies toward the minorities and migrants as well as violent treatment of protesters.

“Unbiased investigations can help shed light on aspects of the Paris incident,” he said.
