Ghalibaf made the remarks in a joint press conference with his Emirati counterpart Saqr Ghobash in the UAE on Friday.
Saying that expanding ties with neighbors is the priority of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ghalibaf cited that such a policy can lead to the expansion of bilateral relations and the establishment of stable peace and security.
Referring to the admission of Iran and the UAE into the BRICS, he further stressed that this event is a great opportunity to expand bilateral relations between BRICS member states in the political, economic, and social areas.
Touching upon the ongoing war in Ukraine, the Iranian parliament speaker once again emphasized that Iran opposes the war and believes that the US and NATO are responsible for this situation.
He also stressed the need for the two countries’ parliamentary friendship groups to be in constant contact.
Ghobash, for his part, hailed Tehran’s policy of establishing peace and security in the region and added that the UAE and Iran have the will to take joint measures in this regard.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Emirati official stressed that the BRICS group has proved that the world today is moving toward multi-polarization and countries can follow the path of development through cooperation.
