Khazali met with Lubna Jaffery, the Norwegian Minister of Culture and Equality on the sidelines of the sidelines of the 68th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), which is the UN’s largest annual gathering on gender equality and women’s empowerment,
The Iranian vice president expressed regret that while the UN commission is discussing the issue of poverty eradication, the mothers in Gaza are witnessing their children are starving, and according to UN WOMEN’s report, access to food in Gaza today has reduced dramatically.
Referring to Norway’s humanitarian rights position in supporting the oppressed children of Gaza, she called for more cooperation to establish an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Further, Khazali expressed her concern about the separation of refugee children from their mothers, as well as widespread discrimination and hatred against Muslim women in Norway.
While in New York, the Iranian vice president held a meeting with the head of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women during which she called for renewing Iran’s membership in Commission on Status of Women.
