Ayatollah Khamenei awarded the Fath or Conquest medals to the Army’s Chief Commander Major General Abdurrahim Mousavi and the IRGC Chief Commander Major General Hossein Salami during a ceremony on Monday.
The commanders were awarded over their performance in boosting the Iranian armed forces’ defense and combat power as well as their deterrence.
The Fath Medal has been chosen as a symbol of the successful operations carried out by the soldiers of Islam and the victors in these operations.
The medal features three palm leaves, the dome of the Khorramshahr Grand Mosque, as well as the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to the official website of the Leader.
After awarding the Fath medals to the commanders of the army and the IRGC, Ayatollah Khamenei, Commander-in-Chief of all Armed Forces, said, “God willing, may God taste the sweetness of victory in all fields to you, to all friends, and the Islamic Republic.”
