In an interview with IRNA on Tuesday, Haghighian elaborated on President Raeisi’s visit to Dushanbe.
Signing cooperation documents in various fields, holding a joint trade and economic conference, and issuing a joint statement by the presidents of the two countries are on the agenda of the president’s trip to Dushanbe, he said.
Referring to Raeisi’s first foreign visit to Tajikistan, Haghighian noted that Iran and Tajikistan’s ties are on the path of cooperation within the framework of the neighboring policy.
The volume of trade between the two countries increased from $120 million to $280 million in the Iranian calendar year 1401 compared to the year before that and in the first six months of the current year has so far been about $150 million, he added.
Pointing to several signed contracts between the two countries in the field of technical engineering services with a value of more than €550 million during the said period, he said that so far more than €100 million have been implemented.
He underlined that the trade and economic exhibition of Iran, as well as the 16th Joint Economic Commission of the two countries, will be held in Dushanbe in the near future.
President Raeisi’s visit to Dushanbe will be held at the official invitation of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon tomorrow.
It is scheduled to sign several cooperation documents and hold a joint business and economic conference with the participation of the presidents of the two countries, as well as about 200 Iranian and Tajik economic activists and entrepreneurs.
