Earlier on Monday, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak reacted to the execution of Alireza Akbari, a former Iranian official for espionage charges.
The Director General of the Western Europe Department stressed that the London’s government should be held accountable for establishing unconventional communications leading to an attack on the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The official emphasized that unwarranted and mischievous support of the agent of espionage is not compatible with the claim of relations based on mutual respect.
The director general announced that Iran won’t tolerate such illegal and criminal acts and the UK is responsible of the consequences.
The UK ambassador said he would convey Iran’s protest to his government at the earliest.
