Hatam Boostani, president of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, said the hospital was evacuated after powerful explosions as a result of US airstrikes near the complex.

The vicinity of the hopsital was struck in a US attack on the evening of July 15. 

The medical center was soon evacuvated to protect patients, their families, and medical staff, with all patients safely transferred to other hospitals across Ahvaz under emergency protocols.
