Hossein Amir-Abdollahian posted a message on the X social media network highlighting the issues he raised on Tuesday.
“In my speech today at the extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah I emphasized the immediate necessity of expelling the genocidal Israeli regime from the United Nations General Assembly and preventing it from joining other international institutions,” he added.
“I further suggested that breaking diplomatic ties with this regime, halting the export of goods to the occupied territories, and implementing a complete boycott of Israeli goods can be considered as practical measures to support Palestine”, the top Iranian diplomat said in his post.
While the resolution is positive, more impactful measures are required, he further noted.
The Iranian foreign minister attended an emergency meeting of foreign ministers of Islamic countries on Tuesday in Jeddah to review the situation in Gaza.
During his speech, he touched on a wide range of Israeli atrocities and warned that the genocide and dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, as well as atrocities in the West Bank, have reached “unprecedented” levels.
Amir-Abdollahian categorically blamed the United States and its Western partners for arming and funding the Israeli regime to commit crimes against Palestinians.
