Amir-Abdollahian left for the South Asian country on Monday afternoon in response to an invitation by his Sri Lankan counterpart Ali Sabry.
During his stay in Colombo, the Iranian foreign minister will discuss expansion of bilateral ties in political, economic, scientific and technological fields.
Amir-Abdollahian wrote on his official X account that he will also review economic, trade and agricultural relations with Sri Lankan officials.
