He made the remarks on Monday at the International Conference of Martyr Hajj Qassem Soleimani; Diplomacy and Resistance”, held on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Martyr Qassem Soleimani, emphasizing that Iran will continue its moral, political, and legal support for the Resistance discourse.
Stating that Iran’s foreign policy has been formed based on the “Diplomacy of Axis of Resistance”, Iran’s top diplomat stressed that the foreign diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been founded based on the Resistance and will move on this path with utmost power.
Martyr Soleimani was the architect of the Axis of Resistance in the region, but the impact of this issue can be witnessed beyond daily policies and executive approaches, he underlined.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Araghchi pointed to the role of the national capabilities in materialization of interests of the country, highlighting that diplomacy alone cannot produce benefits for the country, rather, national capabilities can produce and protect the national interests.
The discourse of the resistance has been one of the most important discourses of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the national, regional, and trans-regional levels, the Iranian foreign minister maintained.
Turning to the unprecedented and outstanding role of Martyr Soleimani in operationalization of the resistance discourse, he emphasized that Martyr Qassem Soleimani was the concrete embodiment of the resistance who defined the discourse of the resistance within the framework of theoretical concepts and transformed it into a tangible and influential power in the equations of the West Asian region.
On January 3, 2020, former Iran’s IRGC Quds Force Commander Lt. General Qassem Soleimani was assassinated at the behest of US President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport in Iraq while travelling to meet with the then Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi.
