Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani said that the economic cooperation pact was signed between Iran and Venezuela in industrial mining, energy, petrochemical, commerce, agricultural, scientific, technological and a number of other fields at that commission. 

Also present at the commission there were a Venezuelan vice president, and three ministers of energy, transportations and agriculture, as well as their Iranian counterparts and the head of the two countries’ economic cooperation committees.

Brigadier General Ashtiani said, “We are very glad to have successfully hosted the 9th Joint High Level Economic Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, thanks to round-the-clock efforts made by Iranian and Venezuelan colleagues during the past 72 hours.”

He added, “I strongly believe the successful sponsoring of this commission is both the beginning and a turning point in macro-scale and strategic relations between Iran and Venezuela, under the leadership of the heads of the two countries, President Ebrahim Raisi and President Nicholas Maduro.”

The head of Iran and Venezuela Economic Cooperation Commission said that during the course of holding this commission in addition to the progress achieved in balanced bilateral cooperation, we reached new agreements and understanding that is reliable in the economic, scientific, technological, industrial, agricultural, energy, cultural and some other fields.
