Khuzestan Red Crescent Society Deputy for Relief and Rescue said: “According to the first assessment, the earthquake in the area of Qala-e-Khajeh in Khuzestan has been without death so far, but one person has been injured.”
Ali Pahlavan in an interview with didgahnews.ir on Monday added: “Assessment teams of this population were present in the area from the first minutes of the earthquake and so far no casualties have been reported in this incident and only one casualty has been reported in Chelou area.”
Khuzestan Red Crescent Society Rescue and Relief Deputy added: Red Crescent Society rescue and relief teams in Lali, Indika, Masjed Soleiman, Izeh and Baghmalek are on full alert.
He continued: “According to the reports received from the Highway Center, all transportation routes in this area are open.”
The earthquake was felt in Chelgard area of Chaharmahal Bakhtiari province and Khajeh castle of Indika city of Khuzestan this morning among the regions of Khuzestan province.
Four Red Crescent assessment teams have been sent to the Qala-e-Khajeh area.
Indika is located in the northeast of Khuzestan with the center of Qala-e-Khajeh city with three sections and a population of about 80,000 people and an area of 2,300 square kilometers.
The Chelou section of Indika city has a population of 15,000.
