“The United States is proud of our enduring relationship with Israel. As the first country to recognise Israel as an independent state in 1948, our bonds are underpinned,” Joe Biden wrote a message to head of Israeli regime on Tuesday to mark the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Israeli regime which is detested by the Palestinian people as Nakba Day.
Nakba Day is the day of commemoration for the Nakba, also known as the Palestinian Catastrophe, which comprised the destruction of Palestinian society and homeland in 1948, and the permanent displacement of a majority of the Palestinian people.
“As I – a lifelong supporter of Israel and the only American president to visit Israel in wartime – made clear after Hamas’s attack, the United States’ commitment to Israel’s security is ironclad,” Biden’s congratulatory message further read.
