Venezuela’s top diplomat, in a message on Tuesday, thanked the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in condemnation of the US military aggression to the territory of his country.
On behalf of the Bolivarian government, “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its firm stance for the release of the legitimate President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.”
As Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated earlier, this kidnapping is an illegal act by the US government that endangers the peace and sovereignty of all peoples of the world.
In response to a question regarding the reaction of the international community and the United Nations to the developments in Venezuela, Baghaei had said on his press briefing, “Kidnapping of the president and First Lady of a country is not something to be proud of at all; it is a completely illegal act, and as Venezuelan officials and people themselves have emphasized that their president must be released.”
